San Jose
Amtrak station and board on
train #728 departing at
9:50AM. The ride is about 3
hours, arriving in
Sacramento at 12:55 noon. To
return to bay area, we will
board on train #747
departing at 5:40PM and
arrive in San Jose at
8:45PM. For more

The route is 1.9 mile long,
90% in shade, ups & downs
with well maintained walking
path (narrow). The look-out
point has a 260 degree view
of the valley. You may see
PACE school (with
binocular). Getting there:
From Highway 85 in Santa
Clara County, exit Saratoga
Avenue. Drive southwest
toward
Saratoga about 1.7
miles, then turn left onto
Highway 9/Saratoga-Los Gatos
Road. Drive about 0.5 mile,
and turn right onto Montalvo.
Continue about 0.7 mile in a
residential area, then
through a gate (on the left)
and into the park. There are
4 parking lots -- the
featured hike begins at lot
4. Dogs not allowed. For

arranged a one-night stay at the
youth hostel by sea for a Labor
Day weekend getaway retreat.
There are 30 slots for the group
reservation and the rate for
each participant is $20 (same
for adult and children).
We will arrive on 9/1 Saturday
afternoon and leave the next day
on 9/2 Sunday. Other details
will be provided soon. A fun
program will also be planned for
us soon (you may voice your
suggestions).
